Heavenly Daze. Well-crafted, fully furnished and handicap accessible home perched on rugged ledges in an enchanting and private woodland setting. Completely renovated. Glorious sunsets, simple and inviting gardens, footpaths. Just steps to a picturesque typical Maine beach. Main house has spacious master suite including walk in shower with heated tile floors. This house has one floor with fully stocked kitchen, family room with floor to ceiling windows looking out on Penobscot Bay, vaulted ceilings, exposed natural wood beams, a centrally located wood stove fireplace perfect for a cold fall evening. Having friends join you for a few days….the fully furnished one bedroom apartment above the detached garage has a kitchenette, full bathroom, living area and queen size bed is perfect for guests. Charcoal grill for slow and relaxing dinners and an ocean side landscaped fire pit perfect for s’mores while you watch the stars. The house is on an island. there is a car ferry that runs between the mainland and the island every 30 minutes from 7 am to 5 pm 7 days a week and a smaller non car ferry that will run into the evening or anytime per request. Islesboro has 2 country stores with all the provisions one would need to make a 5 course meal. There are a few small shops and even a great place for ice-cream. The Island however does not have any restaurants so if you are looking for wild nights out its probably not the place. We have in the past taken the ferry back during the day and go to Camden for lunch and window shopping. The Island is famous for its large mansions that are owned by such Hollywood stars as John Travolta and Kristy Alley along with a smattering of hedge fund traders and bigwig lawyers. People come to Islesboro to get away from the crowds and recharge their batteries. It is tradition to give a wave while driving to fellow drivers and walkers! No pets or smoking please.

Cottage (1800 sq. ft.) in Islesboro, ME
0 miles from Castine
Many people have told us that our home is one of the most charming on Islesboro. The house retains the character of the original summer house built in 1908, and it sits in a very special place - a narrow peninsula of land giving the house oceanfront at its front and back. A long porch at the front of the house is just 7 feet up and 12 feet back from high tide. And the shore is actually a sandy beach, something very rare along this stretch of the Maine coast. If you are a boater, there are moorings available just off shore. The front of the house faces Sabbathday Harbor & Ryder's Cove, around which cottages such as this one were built around 1900 by families coming down for the summer from Bangor on the steamboats that in those days made regular stops at Ryder's Cove. Further out on the narrow peninsula there is a rocky promontory from which still other ocean views can be had. The whole area has a magic that words cannot describe. The house sleeps 6-10 persons (best fit for ~4 adults/4 children or 6 adults). There are 3 bedrooms, 1 additional room, and 1 full bath on the second floor (queen-size bed in one bdrm, two single beds in another, queen size bed in another, and two twin beds in the other room). There is also an office on the first floor with a full size sleep sofa. And there is a half bath on the first floor. The first floor has a large open area for living and dining, an enclosed sun porch, and a kitchen. There are many window on the first floor, particularly on the glassed-in sun porch, which has an especially light and airy feel to it. The furnishings are in keeping with the age of the home. The house was built in 1907/1908. One hundred years later, over the winters of 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, major restoration/repair of the house was completed including installation of foundation piers, restoration of south side porch, interior structural improvements (e.g., stiffening of second floor), removal of modern sheet rock in one bedroom, changes to second floor windows to make them impervious to weather, new hardwood floors, new roof and some new siding shingles, restoration of inoperable doors and windows, removal of thick/peeling old paint on trim and repainting. More recently, in 2011, additional restoration and improvements were made, including installation of foundation piers and new floor for the sun porch; lengthening of kitchen counter with new dishwasher; and construction of a new shed for garden tools All of the work was done with a careful eye to maintaining or restoring the original character of the house. Available for Rental: Memorial Day - Columbus Day; Weekly rentals (7 night minimum); Sunday - Sunday.

Cottage (1025 sq. ft.) in Penobscot, ME
0 miles from Castine
Our cottage sits on a small bluff directly overlooking Penobscot Bay. About 15 feet from the cottage deck is our private stairs, leading to the water's edge. Maine's coastline is more rocky than sandy -- our "beach" is perfect for rock scrambling. And there is a little dock at the foot of the stairs where some guests take their morning coffee or store a kayak or just sit and think. The water is cold for swimming, but is ideal for rowing and canoeing and kayaking if one isn't hardy enough to take a swim There are little islands nearby to explore, but my favorite thing to do is to paddle out into the bay and sit quietly until the golden seals pop up around me. We rent the cottage by the week, or multiple weeks. Our weeks run from Saturday to Saturday. The cottage is fully furnished with linens, towels, cookware, dishware, and glassware. It is cleaned and the laundry is done before each guest arrives. There’s a nice-sized master bedroom with a queen-sized bed. In the dining/living greatroom there’s a daybed/sofa with a trundle, which becomes two twin beds. That room is quite attractive, I think: it has a cathedral ceiling and along one wall is the brick fireplace, while one entire other wall is windowed to look out across the water. Also, there are two charming, cozy sleeping lofts -- one of them looks across the bay and the other looks west, across a field. Each of these lofts has access via pulldown stairs. The lofts were designed for the children of the family that originally built the cottage -- they are fun and sweet and, oddly enough, pretty darned comfortable (which I know from sleeping in them quite often as an adult!). They each have futons and a little table with a little lamp on it. There is only one bathroom. It has been entirely renovated and expanded in 2019. It has a shower stall. The cottage kitchen isn’t large enough to eat in, but it’s not small, and the appliances are in good working order. There’s an electric stove, a microwave oven, a normal-sized refrigerator, as well as various kinds of coffee makers and a toaster oven. There are no laundry facilities in the cottage, but there is a laundromat in Castine, and another one in Bucksport. All well-behaved pets are welcome at our cottage.

Cottage (1200 sq. ft.) in Islesboro (Island), ME
0 miles from Castine
Solsidan is a traditional-style Maine beachfront cottage. The setting, nestled on a quiet point with pebbly/sandy beach front and back, is truly spectacular. The cottage has a magnificent view across Penobscot Bay to Cape Rosier and Castine and beyond to Blue Hill. You can step off the porch and walk the beach with your morning coffee. The beach is regarded as one of the best on the island. The cove has a small number of original summer cottages. Enjoy quiet walks, boating, reading, and relaxation. Dine on the covered porch and enjoy the view. Some changes have taken place during its life but Solsidan retains the original wood open-wall construction. The house has a spirit that conjures up images of the summer-long family sojourns that have occurred many summers during the last 100 years of the cottage's history. Water on two sides.: See the view of the back beach while preparing dinner in the kitchen! Narrative description: Solsidan has 3 bedrooms, one on the first floor (queen bed), and two on the second floor. There is also a large open room (studio) overlooking the bay that has two twin beds. Enjoy the rustic charm of an original 1800s Bayside gingerbread cottage! Savor the view from the front porch, relax with a good book, or chat with neighbors as they stroll by -- this is a friendly summer community! Dyer Cottage sleeps six in three bedrooms (one queen, one double and a set of twins) and one bath. We furnish bed linens, but you should plan to bring your own towels. Porch furniture, charcoal grill and picnic table provided. Email or call for availability, June through Labor Day. Visible from the front porch, the water's edge is just a block away -- as is the Village Center, a family-friendly focal point for summer fun. Children frolic on the playground swings, while older kids play pick-up games on the basketball court. At the Village pier and float, children of all ages splash in the bay under the careful watch of a lifeguard. Youngsters can learn to sail in classes offered through the Village Yacht Club. Rental kayaks are available nearby, and can be beached here. Many summer residents are sailors, and their moored boats dot the Bayside shoreline. Northport Golf Club is just a few blocks away and welcomes visitors. Historic Bayside: Established as a Wesleyan summer camp meeting community in the 1800s, Bayside's original homes -- tents on wooden platforms -- were subsequently transformed into Victorian gingerbread cottages that now are gaily painted in a variety of hues. The village comes to life during the summer season, with American flags flying, colorful flowers overflowing their planter boxes, cats snoozing in the sun, residents rocking on their front porches, and friendly folks strolling the streets and socializing along the way. Nearby Attractions: From Bayside, it's just a short drive to Lincolnville Beach, where the ferry leaves for Islesboro. A few miles farther down are hiking trails in the Camden Hills (Mt. Battie), and the beautiful town and harbor of Camden. The Farnsworth Museum, famous for its Wyeth collection and more, is situated not far beyond Camden in Rockland, another seaport, which offers day cruises and overnight windjammer sails. A little farther down the coast you can cruise to Puffin Island, where the birds were reintroduced successfully in the 1980s, or visit a botanical garden in Boothbay Harbor. In the opposite direction, you can head into picturesque Belfast with its new shipbuilding facility and small working harbor. In Searsport, don't miss the Penobscot Marine Museum with its historical perspective on the area's seafaring days. Farther East are the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory, and historic Fort Knox. On up the coast are spectacular Acadia National Park (not to be missed!) and the towns of Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor and Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island. There you can go sightseeing, whale-watching, island-hopping, and more. En route you'll pass a water park in Ellsworth, mini-golf, and other attractions. Antiques shops, art galleries and restaurants abound throughout the Midcoast Region. Countless families make Bayside their annual vacation destination throughout their children's growing up years -- and beyond. Kids who come for successive summers establish lifelong friendships.

Ferry away from your hectic life. Rejuvenate and decompress at Crow's Nest Cottage, on Islesboro Island, in Midcoast Maine. Reconnect with your partner and your family in this incredible get-away-from-it-all place 20 minutes by public State of Maine ferry off the Maine coast. Reserve a summer week now - - or two or even three weeks - - at our cozy, comfortable, very clean, cottage on magical Islesboro Island. The sooner you reserve, the more likely you are to get your preferred week. Crow's Nest is a GREAT VALUE FOR A FABULOUS LOCATION! We rent our cottage by the week (Saturday until Saturday) from the third week of June through the third week of September. The last two weeks in July and the first three weeks in August are the most desired. We have proudly shared Crow's Nest Cottage since 2006 with over one hundred families. Their testimonials (see our own website maineislandhouserental) speak loudly about their wonderful memories of perfect vacations at Crow's Nest Cottage. A happy guest said it best: "This week was exactly what we needed! This house is just perfect - -thank you for all the amazing touches that make it feel like home! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us. This is a gem on the crown of an amazing secret of an island. We loved every minute!" This is a place that 'time forgot.' Think 19th century Vermont transported to an island in the ocean! The cottage has Internet any time you want to get back into the 21st century! Crow's Nest cottage is an easy 20 minutes by ferry off the gorgeous Maine coast. Fully renovated, Crow's Nest cottage is located at the northern, rural end of legendary Islesboro Island, considered by many the most beautiful of all Maine islands. The cottage faces the Meadow Pond, a quiet, lush wildlife refuge. It sleeps 4 comfortably in the 2 bedrooms; the living room has a Queen-size futon for a 5th adult or your teenager. We have a MAXIMUM limit of 5 people. Many quiet beaches are minutes away by car. The cottage has a marvelous, large deck. This is a SMOKE-FREE home. NO PETS PLEASE. The cottage's spacious, light-filled bathroom has an old-fashioned tub with hand-held shower unit. We do NOT have a conventional stand-up shower. Guests frequently tell us that Crow's Nest Cottage is like a home away from home. As one family said, "this is by far the best equipped rental house we have ever stayed in! The Peebles provided everything one could imagine needing!" Islesboro is a very quiet vacation spot. If you are looking for beauty and tranquility, for peace and quiet, and a "low-key" vacation spot, you'll love Islesboro Island and Crow's Nest Cottage. If you are looking for lots of restaurant options, movie theaters, amusement parks, bars, fast food, shopping, and crowds, Islesboro Island is NOT the place for you. Our Meadow Pond Neighborhood: Crows Nest cottage is located “up-island” and looks across to the 20 acre, fresh water, Meadow Pond, a neat wildlife refuge for deer, birds, ducks, turtles, beaver, etc. You need a car on the island to get to the 2 small grocery stores, to the 2 restaurants and ice cream parlor, for speedy trips to local beaches and public playground, and to get to the ferry. The island has hundreds of secluded and hidden coves and beaches. If you love the splendor of the Atlantic Ocean and wild Maine coast without droves of tourists, Islesboro is your place. There are dozens of secluded, beautiful coves and beaches -- both sandy and rocky -- within a 5 to 15 minute drive from the cottage. Or, pack a backpack and bike (or walk!!) to them....Explore them on foot or in a kayak. Pack picnic lunches and suppers and play Robinson Crusoe on your "private" island. One family happily emailed us: "What an amazing week we had! We spent countless hours walking on so many beaches! We collected so many shells and sea glass, they will be our priceless treasure forever - - so great!" VISIT OUR PERSONAL WEBSITE FOR DOZENS OF GUEST REVIEWS, BEGINNING IN 2006, AND MANY MORE PHOTOS & DETAILED INFORMATION RE THE COTTAGE AND ISLAND! Thoughtfully and tastefully updated late 1800's cape farmhouse tucked into a Christmas tree farm in the quintessential lobster town of Blue Hill, Maine. Original art, form/function and comfort. All the essentials needed to initiate your technology detox, plow through a great book, or write your own debut novel? This is area that "Charlotte's Web" was fashioned after. Generations of creative types and independent thinkers have started here. The "Back To The Land" movement was birthed in Blue Hill. Even today, young families and retired couples and friends start their homesteading adventures to your benefit! Taste local honey, cheese, beer, wine, meats, and the earth's bounties at the many farmer's markets and roadside, some of which still operate on the "honor system". The New York Times Travel section recently published a piece entitled, "Blue Hill, a Literary Enclave, Grows in Downeast Maine." Reconnect with the ones you love at the fire pit. Watch the young family of turkeys wade through young saplings, or collect wild lupine by the roadside after a fruitful day of wild blueberry picking. Have you ever made a fireside cobbler? I have a great recipe for you! Top it off with local vanilla bean ice cream, and I guarantee you'll sleep like rocks that dot the shoreline in Blue Hill Village. Handmade chocolates at Black Dinah, scenic rides to Stonington for 44 North Coffee and chowder on the pier, while Lobsterman ebb and flow with the their bounties and hosing down their orange rubber pants, just to head out again... The cottage offers ample parking for a modest boat to launch at Blue Hill dock. Wade at low tide at the beach/park overlooking nearby islands. There's a very nice, clean, playground there. The Space: Well appointed, comfortable and exceedingly unique. Bright colors, sunny rooms, clean and refreshed farmhouse cape that is at once quaint and cheery. Three separate sleeping areas with two private rooms and a sleeping loft. A petite flat screen TV/DVD player for late night movies and Flashback Atari showdowns! Eat lunch outside on the picnic table, or have an evening cocktail via outdoor lantern-light. Fire pit to roast weenies or make smores, or just get warm on a chilly evening. Guest access: Come and go as you please! Utter privacy, free reign of the place (but no access to basement is allowed), no neighbors. Guest interaction: We'll connect via email/text prior to your stay for directions and I'll check in via phone/text to see if you're settled in! I'm available as much or as little as desired via phone! Need some ideas for dinner? Ring or text me! I have staff in place for emergencies and am available by phone at any time. My house manager is nearby to handle any potential issues. Neighborhood overview: Neighbors this week include a young family of wild turkeys, deer, bunnies, and the occasional moose. There are no homes or neighbors within a quarter mile. The cottage sits close to a country road, and it easy to see when finding it. Tiny apples cover trees surrounding the will be cider and applesauce come October. There is no internet, cable, or phone. This is intentional. If you are looking to work during your stay, please bring your own wifi. But if you are looking to slow down, this is a great place to do just that. You want a good laugh? Forget Youtube. Play a round of Balderdash! We are close enough to Acadia for day trips, and only four miles from town. Get a lobster roll or fresh fish and chips at The Fishnet, take a course at the Woodenboat School in Brooklin (you can build your own Northeaster Dory with master builder, George Krewson), take the ferry to nearby islands to explore, or inhale a whole lobster at Perry's Lobster Shack in Surry, the town next door. Don't forget the blueberry pie and homemade ice cream! It's a magical place, suspended in time, with hearty, friendly folks, and great local food and brews. Worried about being too remote? Blue Hill is one of the only towns in Downeast Maine with it's own hospital. Getting around: No public transportation (unless you include the ferry system). Lots of parking at the cottage and in Blue Hill harbor. Bring your kayaks, or a smallish watercraft. Blue Hill is a great place to walk! There are galleries, shops, books, a museum, and lots of shore to explore. Other things to note: Laundry service at Blue Hill Village available. ***The cottage is one of the oldest homes in Blue Hill and one of the original farmhouses so takes a few minutes to get the shower temp right. Please be patient! ***The property is now available from October-May for long-term bookings at a deeply discounted price. Contact me for details or a quote. The cottage is the perfect (!) basecamp for traveling professionals, particularly creative types who desire a special place to create or decompress! I'd encourage you to read my reviews to see just how well it's been reviewed and enjoyed by my guests! ***All artwork is copyrighted and may not be reproduced without prior permission

Maine cottage on a bluff, fully modernized and right on the beach. Situated on eight acres on the northeast shoulder of Islesboro, Maine, this lovingly restored cottage is a perfect island getaway for a small family or couple. The three-bedroom, two-bath home has a private beach with one of the island’s best views of Penobscot Bay, looking due east across two miles of open water to Castine and spectacular sunrises. The family’s restoration of the 1950’s “Maine camp” has retained the rustic charm of the original structure while updating and appointing it with modern appliances and fixtures to make it a place you’ll never want to leave. The cottage has a central living space that includes living room, dining area, kitchen, and wood stove. There is a separate entry foyer, which connects to another living room with a television. There is an outdoor porch on the bay side of the house. The main bathroom has a shower and tub, and a second bath, adjacent to the master bedroom, has a shower. The kitchen is well-supplied, as the owners love to cook. An enclosed herb garden is adjacent to the house. There are two cozy bedrooms with dressers and nightstands, both looking out on the bay. The master has a queen bed and the other room has two twin beds. There is also a bunkroom with four built-in bunkbeds, ideal for children of any age. A washer/dryer is off the foyer. The house is equipped with high-speed (1GB) wi-fi. Pripet Woods Lane is a private road with almost no traffic. The beach is perfect for strolling, beach-combing, picnicking, wading, and kayaking (the boathouse will be locked but we will leave two kayaks and paddles for tenants’ use). A stone patio and fire pit on the bluff overlook the bay. A longer-term renter who wanted to bring his/her own Whaler/runabout could use our 6000-pound mooring - our house is one of only a handful on Islesboro with direct driveway access to the water's edge. (Use of kayaks and the mooring is of course at the owners' risk.) Please note that the owners are renting most the house, but the owners' bedroom at the back will be closed off. The cottage is a smoke-free home, and no pets. We strongly prefer two-week and one-month rentals, but will consider one-week rentals in the month of June. Islesboro is a vibrant year-round island community located three miles off the coast of Lincolnville Beach in Penobscot Bay. Accessible by a 20-minute ferry ride, the 14-mile long island has a year-round population of 650. The population swells to 2500 at the height of the summer, but the island retains its tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. It has two grocery stores, an ice cream shop, a bookstore, a lobster and barbecue take-out near our home, and a couple of gift stores in addition to a community center, library, and café. During July and August, there are scheduled lecture series, art shows, dances, community barbecues, and other community events. Islesboro is also perfect for nature lovers who are interested in exploring the coastline, kayaking, hiking, and bicycling. For those who want to explore the charm of mainland Midcoast Maine, Lincolnville Beach is a short drive to Camden, Rockland, Rockport, and Belfast. The ferry departs from Lincolnville almost hourly between 8 am - 5 pm daily. The reverse trip from the island departs on the half-hour. Information on the ferry, water shuttle service, and directions to the island can be found at

Cottage (3000 sq. ft.) in Sedgwick, ME

Only a few weeks left to rent Kill Kare for Summer 2019. Kill Kare is uniquely and ideally located in a pine forest on a pristine freshwater lake on the Down East coast of Maine, 1/4 mile from the Penobscot Bay. So named because here you are welcomed to truly 'kill your cares', the cottage has been in our family since it was built in 1917. Some have called it "magical". There is a warm and gentle spirit to this home. Guests find that it provides both energy and peace - a place to recharge and to unwind. It is a private and restful vacation spot and a perfect base from which to explore nearby Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Castine, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Reached by a mile long private road, the property is peaceful and quiet - with the only interruption being the occasional call of the loons. Sitting on the generous porch - which faces west - you feel as though you are on shipboard while watching lovely sunsets. A small private dock and swim float allow access to the lake for swimming and boating. Inside, a well-appointed living room is anchored by a large field stone fireplace. There is also an inviting dining room and a well-equipped country kitchen with eat-in space. This is lakeside living at its best. Our unique location: Located on Walker Pond on the Blue Hill Peninsula, Kill Kare offers a relaxing and secluded privacy, but is very convenient not only to scenic Eggemoggin Reach and Penobscot Bay, but also to the beautiful New England towns that dot the Down East coast. All within an easy drive are charming Blue Hill (lots to do here), Brooklin (Wooden Boat School), Castine (Maine Maritime Academy and tours of their training ship, The State of Maine), Deer Isle (Haystack Mountain School of Crafts), Stonington (ferry to Isle au Haut and lobster co-op), Camden (home port to timeless schooners), Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Acadia National Park and all the activities they offer. This area boasts some of the most impressive maritime scenery in the US and offers excellent restaurants (think lobsters and blueberries!), lovely gift and antique shops, artist colonies, farmers' markets, book stores, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, golf and unsurpassed opportunities to discover the natural beauty of Maine. A family home: Kill Kare was originally built as a fishing cabin because our grandfather loved the sport. Our grandmother collected antiques she found in the area. Our family has filled the house with friends and laughter since 1917. Kill Kare is an ideal spot for a family (or two) to enjoy together. Savor a morning cup of coffee on the porch and watch the mist rise from the lake. Spend a lazy afternoon nestled in the wicker swing with a good book . Take a kayak out on the lake or have a swim. Watch a spectacular sunset while sipping a drink on the porch and listening to the loons calling to one another. Lay out on the dock after dark and marvel at the night sky. The stars and constellations seem close enough to touch. Inside, snuggle up near a cozy fire in the field stone fireplace. The mounted fish over the mantel came from the lake. Share a family meal by candlelight in our welcoming dining room. Rest deeply as the sound of waves lulls you to sleep and your cares slip away. Please join us and make some memories! Incidentals: Distances from Kill Kare: Bangor International Airport - 1 hour. Portland International Airport - 2.5 hours. Bar Harbor Airport - 1 hour. Boston - 5 - 6 hour drive. Blue Hill Memorial Hospital - 15 minutes. Groceries, gas, take out restaurants - 5 minutes. Bookstores, restaurants, gift and antique shops, larger grocery store - 15 minutes. Kayak and canoe rentals (with paddles and life vests) nearby. They deliver and pick up. Our online Renter's Guide - provides information and guidelines about the house and recommendations of things to do and see, where to eat and shop to maximize your vacation enjoyment.

Waterfront! Secluded. Fully restored 1940s beauty centered only 35 ft from picturesque Bucks Harbor. Private beach & setting, yet only quick walk to Bucks Harbor Yacht Club, Market, Marina & weekly farmers market. Mooring, too. The Barnacle is a beautifully restored 1940s barn, transformed in to a seaside showplace. Resting only 35 feet from the harbor, it captures impressive views from throughout the interior of the home, as well as from the expansive deck running along the entire waterside of the home. A wide array of seafaring vessels makes use of this protected harbor, offering a tranquil yet ever changing view. The home has been restored top to bottom. The interior is bright, comfortable and decorated in nautical style with a splash of antiques and family heirlooms. Cathedral ceilings give a spacious feel, as does the open floor plan for living room, dining area, library and kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to host a lobster bake for 30 on the beach or a quaint cocktail party on the deck. There are huge windows displaying the beauty of the harbor, along with pine floors, Kraft-maid cabinets and all major appliances (except no dishwasher). A beautiful gas fireplace was added in 2006. The laundry room is also on the main level. Four delightful bedrooms are upstairs. Each room has a different size bed: a king, a queen, a double and a twin. It can sleep 7 upstairs and one of the downstairs couches pulls out to a double. Back outside, there is a staircase that leads down to a private beach, and personal mooring for those bringing or renting a boat. Nestled at the center of Bucks Harbor, its private situation belies the fact that it is just down the street from the Bucks Harbor Market & Marina, which offers organic veggies from the local growers, a huge variety of wines & cheeses, a pizza parlor, ice cream and a wonderful restaurant and marina area. There are weekly markets, too. Bucks Harbor Yacht Club is also within walking distance, and offers movie nights, square dancing, Saturday teas after the races, ping pong, tether ball and tennis. This quiet and peaceful area offers a nice smattering of activities to keep things both relaxing and interesting. Rates subject to change. Click "Book it Now" for rates and availability.

Beautiful, private, two bedroom cottage overlooking Walker Pond in Brooksville. Custom kitchen, living room with fireplace, bath with jetted tub and deck. Family room DVD and VCR viewing systems (viewed on TV, But no TV reception), and Foosball table. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. Not recommended for small children or persons who have difficulty with stairs. Canoe and kayak are available to borrow (life jackets also). Use of the beach is permitted by owners of the beach as long as we all keep it uncluttered and in its natural condition. Walker Pond: Walker Pond is touted to be the third cleanest body of water in Maine. There are several species of fish including bass and trout. The water is up to four feet deep for approximately 100 ft. out. It reaches depths of 40 feet. The kayak that is available is made of heavy plastic. It is unsinkable and does not flip. It is perfect for the novice. The 16' canoe is perfect for two, three, or even four (two adults and two small children). Life jackets are provided or you may bring your own. There is nothing more relaxing than listening to the loons in the evening, or watching a bald eagle soar over the lake. Things to Do: Many of our guests enjoy just staying at the 'pond.' However, for those who like to venture out, there are many areas to hike, bike or drive. The public beach after the causeway from Little Deer Isle to Deer Isle is only a five minute drive. Deer Isle is a wonderful island full of the 'real' Maine. There are many artists and artisans with galleries out of their own homes, grocery stores, quaint shops, and Stonington, at the far end of the island is a working fishing village. The views are spectacular as you drive or bike ride and it is far less crowded than the Bar Harbor region. Bar Harbor is about an hour drive away.
